THE BEST OF THE CONSTRUCTION FIELD SHALL MEET AT THE FOR ARCH FAIR

The international construction trade fair FOR ARCH will take place from 19 to 23 September, 2023. Be a part of the largest construction event in the Czech Republic, where the most important manufacturers, suppliers, traders and builders will present themselves. Thanks to the fair, get a great overview of novelties and trends in the construction industry. Establish and strengthen your business contacts! The fair is still the most effective marketing mean for the presentation of companies with appropriate feedback in the form of acquiring new business partners and necessary orders. Personal contact works reliably.

Trade fairs and events without restrictions

As of March 14, 2022, no extraordinary measures against coronavirus applicable to trade fairs and other events at the exhibition center are in the force. The obligation to wear respirators in enclosed spaces was thus abolished.

With this step, trade fairs and other events held at the exhibition center return to the position what we knew them before the pandemic. We are delighted with the growing interest of exhibitors and visitors as well in this season's events and we believe that this trend will continue successfully.

Although the formal inspections have disappeared, the PVA EXPO PRAGUE exhibition center remains a safe place, where we pay attention to increased hygiene and safety standards of all participants. We look forward to seeing you at the upcoming events!

Fairs are coming up. Good news for exhibitors and visitors

Exhibitions and trade fairs experienced a very special year, when they were among the first to be completely closed and the strictest rules applied to them, when it came to short and partial release. The current weakening of the coronavirus epidemic in the Czech Republic in recent weeks has also brought news of the gradual opening of segments of the economy, sports or social life. And the first good news already concerns the trade fair sector.

Today, the blanket ban on trade fairs ends and the first regulations come into force, under which it is possible to organize exhibitions and fairs. So far, it is a matter of limiting the presence of one visitor to 15 sq m of indoor space, but even that is a good signal and a boost for all those who participate in the preparation of this year's events. "The fairs are being prepared many months in advance," says ABF Executive Director Mr. Martin František Přívětivý, adding: "Exhibitions will be started this year by the car exhibition AUTOSHOW PRAGUE on August 27. We believe that at that time the situation around coronavirus will be even better than today and that we will once again welcome satisfied visitors to the safe environment of the PVA EXPO PRAGUE exhibition center." Companies that traditionally exhibit in Letňany are similarly optimistic and bargaining is missing from most of them.

For September, we are preparing a fair of decorations and gifts for you FOR DECOR & HOME, construction fair FOR ARCH, fair of furniture and home design FOR INTERIOR. You can follow the entire calendar of trade fair events at the Letňany Exhibition Center here.

And finally, another cultural invitation for the summer, when the PVA EXPO PRAGUE exhibition center will once again host a large scale of PRAGUE KEMP LETŇANY concerts and, for the first time, also musical performances of the Karlín Music Theater in the open air. To make the wait go faster, we have a video clip from the workshop @vaclavnoidbartaofficial and ParanoidStudio for you. We are looking forward to seeing you there!

FOR ARCH 2021: new initiatives and professional meetings

Next year, workers and companies in the entire construction chain will face important challenges, the implementation of which in practice will bring interesting stimulus for the 32nd year of the FOR ARCH construction fair. It will take place on 21-25 September 2021 at PVA EXPO PRAGUE. A significant event was the FOR ARCH trade fair even in the current challenging time, when it took place under extraordinary health and safety measures. What are the main themes that will resonate with construction next year? For example, according to experts, the current problem in the construction industry is a shortage of workers, the negative development of the whole economy caused by the coronavirus pandemic, and the approaching traditional winter downturn. In August, analysts estimated that the construction industry would react with a delay and return to growth in 2022.

According to representatives of sectors that are closely linked to the construction industry, coronavirus, rather than the number of orders affected the time of their implementation. Some orders were postponed by 2 to 3 months due to a pandemic. However, demand did not decline in the first three quarters of this year. In the future, experts warn against a situation where, due to the development of the budget, there is a real risk of a greater decline in regions, cities and municipalities, where the government takes municipalities from budgets, often representing their year-round investments. State guarantees and European funding can then help.

The dependence of the field on foreign workers is higher and companies are under pressure from a shortage of mainly auxiliary workers. "Technological progress is an existential necessity for the construction sector. Most likely, we will never have as much manpower available as in the past - which only automation, prefabrication or robotics can solve. So the new technologies are undoubtedly also beneficial for the stability of the entire industry, "said Václav Matyáš, President of the Association of Entrepreneurs in the Construction Industry, at FOR ARCH this year.

New Building Act No. 403/2020 Coll. from January 2021

We will see whether the amendment to the Building Act and the Administrative Procedure Code from January 2021 will speed up the building permit and help revive the construction industry. Whether builders will welcome the possibility of applying for a permit using an electronic system, the so-called Builder's Portal, which represents a significant shift in the field of digitalization of public administration. And what will change the new institute of the so-called accelerated procedure.

GREEN SAVINGS: The successor program will be presented later this year

The big change will be that the program will also include apartment buildings outside the capital city of Prague. This follows an agreement with the Ministry of Regional Development. "The program will be simplified, especially at the level of application administration, for which a new information system is being prepared on the part of the SEF CR, which will continue to accept applications. It will be interesting to support adaptation measures, ie the so-called combination project of energy saving and rainwater management will be able to be solved within one application. Green roofs, retention tanks, sources, photovoltaics, etc. will be supported, "said Jan Kříž, Deputy Minister of the Environment, in an interview with TZB-info. The launch of the program is expected by the Ministry of the Environment in the middle of 2021.

BOILER REPLACEMENTS: The operation ban affects hundreds of thousands of sources! What to replace the old boiler for?

As of September 1, 2022, the operation of solid fuel boilers of the 1st and 2nd emission class will be completely banned. "Hundreds of thousands of households and small businesses will have to replace their existing solid fuel hot water boiler with a new heat source," says the TZB-info professional portal at the beginning of the Boiler Replacement project. The so-called OZO person, simply put, an expert trained by the boiler manufacturer, will best advise on the question of whether a particular boiler falls within the obligation. Every household operating a solid fuel boiler is obliged to invite it once every 36 months and have it inspected. He will then find the required information in the inspection report. The market offers a wide range of modern solid fuel boilers meeting the strictest emission requirements and efficiency requirements for gas condensing boilers, heat pumps of all types, ie air-water, water-water, ground-water and air-air as well as solar collectors, including photovoltaic. It is good to entrust a comprehensive solution for a specific house into the hands of an expert, because a good oversizing of resources, accumulation and regulation play a big role.

BIM: Since 2022, above-limit public contracts in BIM

"The Czech civil construction industry is doing more than well in the implementation of the BIM system - we are not catching up with anyone, we are at a level comparable to developed countries. And it is fair to say that BIM should reduce investment and operating costs by 20 to 30%. " said Vaclav Matyas.

"The Czech Republic has become the initiator of the creation of a new CCI classification system at the European level. The common classification system will ensure a uniform naming of all elements of the building, which will be understandable across disciplines and the various programs used. Simply put, a socket will always be a socket, whether it is opened on your computer and program by a designer, investor, management company or anyone else. The agreement on international cooperation in the creation of the CCI makes us one of the leading countries on the road to Construction 4.0, "says Jaroslav Nechyba, Director of the BIM Conception Department of the Czech Agency for Standardization.

Let us believe that the civil construction industry, as well as the whole society, is expected to stabilize in 2021 and return to the standard regime again.

The FOR ARCH 2020 building fair confirmed the status of the largest event of its kind once again!

The FOR ARCH 2020 building fair confirmed the status of the largest event of its kind in the Czech Republic once again. Visitors found a plenty of prestigious suppliers, manufacturer's, innovations, experts advice or an interesting accompanying program.

The FOR ARCH trade fair in 2020 was affected by the covid-19 virus pandemic. Due to extraordinary situation it was necessary not only to comply with stricter regulations for holding a public event, but above all to protect the health of visitors and exhibitors and at the same time provide everyone with maximum comfort and the best possible experience from the fair.

Safety of visitors and exhibitors has been at the first place .But  despite all the measures, the fair was a well full-fledged construction fair, where more than 26,537 visitors could find the current trends and new business opportunities in the area of more than 370 exhibitors stands.

FOR CITY as a trade fair for support of the smart city concepts

The new FOR CITY Trade Fair responds to this newly emerging market and creates space for an inspiring exchange of experience, offer of solutions and technologies, as well as business negotiations between the above-specified target group and its suppliers of innovative technologies and professional services.

Many above-mentioned technologies are already more or less established on the markets for industry or for individual private users. Now, FOR CITY offers them a unique opportunity of addressing directly the market of public services for smart cities, which is specific in terms of its needs and its functioning.

FOR CITY builds on the best of what is offered by the simultaneously held traditional FOR ARCH Trade Fair, where the most modern technologies and solutions are presented, attending firms count on it, professionals respect it and visitors are used to finding verified information, high-quality materials as well as reliable suppliers every autumn in one place.

FOR CITY - 22 - 24 September 2020, PVA EXPO Prague

FOR CITY – An innovative solution for communities, towns, cities and regions

The smart city notion refers to the concepts of strategic management of communities, towns, cities or regions, using modern technologies together with the green infrastructure with the objective of increasing the quality of people’s life, going hand in hand with an increase in attractiveness of the given place for living and doing business, and subsequent increase in the economic level of that place. This means that smart cities are not any ideal, and therefore unrealistic “cities of the future”, but contemporaneous cities which develop sensitively and in a planned manner, with the use of all possibilities offered by modern technologies together with the green infrastructure for pleasant, and yet sustainable life of their inhabitants.

The smart city concept therefore creates a new, specific B2B market of innovative technological solutions and support services whose target group includes public administration and public or private organisations in the role of suppliers of various public services for cities.

FOR CITY will be presented for the first time simultaneously with the building trade fair FOR ARCH 2020 at the PVA EXPO PRAGUE Exhibition Centre in Letňany.

FOR CITY target group: Visitors from among representatives of communities, towns, cities and regions, state administration employees, architects, designers, businesspersons, technicians, specialists, active inhabitants, students.

FOR CITY exhibitors: suppliers of technologies and services for smart cities, towns, communities and regions, where the smart city concepts are already running and who want to present their services.

Term of the trade fair: 22 – 24 September 2020

FOR ARCH 2019 Final Report

MBM FOR ARCH 2019 - successful international b2b event by Enterprise Europe Network

The b2b event was held by the members of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), namely at the Centre for regional development of the Czech Republic and the Chamber of crafts in Dresden, assisted by other EEN members, institutions and stakeholders. Full support was provided by ABF, a.s. that is the main organised of the fair itself.

Newly this year, both the morning and the afternoon sessions began with pitch presentation: three German and seven Czech companies that applied for FOR ARCH Grand Prix competition introduced their innovative products and services. The pitch was trilingual – in Czech, German and English.

However, as every year, the main scope of this event remain b2b meetings. Such meetings are hugely popular among business people: in short, it means pre-arranged B2B meetings that are chosen according business profiles previously published in the catalogue of participants. German EEN members brought to the event 13 of their clients. Interpreters assisted meetings between German and Czech companies.

To MBM FOR ARCH 2019 registered 97 companies (13 more in comparison to 2018), 81 of them found a business partner to meet. Non-Czech companies came mostly from Germany (13) but participants from countries like Serbia, Greece, Italy, Poland, Romania, Russia and Turkey were presented as well. More than 250 formal and many informal meetings were held in one day.

Can architecture change the world? Leading Mexican architect Alberto Kalach has accepted the invitation to Prague

Solar energy must be accumulated by intelligent households

One of the tasks of an intelligent house or intelligent household is energy independence of external suppliers. Solar panels will facilitate independence of the suppliers of electrical energy. A smart house is able to be self-sufficient in many areas and it almost does not need any surrounding resources.

Photovoltaic panels which are installed on the roofs of the houses are, however, unable to generate energy continually in the same volume with regard to weather and annual seasons, and the consumption of households is also rather changeable. The solar system usually supplies any excess of power back to the transmission grid. The owner of the house is then paid for this energy from the supplier. In case that a photovoltaic power plant does not generate enough energy, it conversely takes energy from the transmission grid. A part of a smart household is energy self-sufficiency, i.e. operation without connection to the transmission grid, and the designer’s task is therefore also to propose where and in what volume it will be possible to store the electrical energy generated.

To store electrical energy directly in electrical batteries is expensive, the acquisition costs of the above mentioned systems are not low, it is true, but the high initial capital expenditures return back to the house owners during the time in the form of savings of costs of heating and electricity consumption.

The visitors interested in intelligent living and security equipment of buildings will be able to acquire more information, advice and inspiration at the International Building Trade Fair FOR ARCH, which is to be held at the PVA EXPO PRAGUE on 19 to 23 September 2017. The companies offering technologies of intelligent buildings as well as security systems will present their products and services in Hall no. 4.

Ladislav Brett of the Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers and Technicians in Construction, Independent Expert Vladimír Galád and Pavel Košnar of the Association of Swimming Pools and Saunas of the Czech Republic - ABAS ČR in the jury will meet yet again. This year, new specialists will complete this important task for the first time - Zdeněk Lyčka, independent expert. Within the new field Security the jury will probably be complemented by an expert on this area, who we will introduce later.

Unique Heat Insulation Solar Glass from The National Taiwan University of Science and Technology at FOR ARCH 2017

The National Taiwan University of Science and Technology will attend the FOR ARCH 2017 fair and present the heat insulation solar glass.

The glass is very unique in the world due to it can generate solar power to supply all the energy consumption from cooling and heating system and still remain some power to feed back into grid. There is no possibility for any other Low-e glass in the world to reach this target.

The reflection of the heat insulation and reflection film can enhance the solar power generation and heat insulation simultaneously to gain more renewable energy and reduce more energy consumption from cooling and heating system. According to the test result of three real glass houses site testing at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology the Heat Insulation Solar Glass (HISG) house performed outstanding energy efficiency while compared with normal and low-e glass house.

Based on a continuous site testing from Oct. 2014 to June 2015 of 3m x 3m x 3m glass houses, the HISG house gained 685 kWh during this period. It can supplied all the heating and cooling consumption of 317 kWh during this period and remained 368 kWh feeding back into grid. Contrarily, the ordinary glass house consumed 587 kWh on cooling and heating system. The energy efficiency during this period could be 955 kWh due to the contribution from HISG.

The HISG has been proved to possess the highest capacity of energy efficiency for zero energy buildings in the world. The HISG could be applied on the vertical window or skylight for zero energy buildings. According to a computer simulation on the energy saving of a 26m x 26 m skylight on a 4 m high building in London and Abu Dhabi, the HISG can save 173,993 kWh and 256,512 kWh and decrease CO2 of 121,795 and 179,558 kg respectively while compared with normal glass.

The HISG is very unique in the world for zero energy buildings in the future."

The Czech building industry starts to grow again and an important support for this trend is also the International Building Trade Fair FOR ARCH

The performance of the Czech building industry will return to a slight growth in the upcoming two years again after the unfavourable year 2016. The forecasts of building companies are, however, rather cautious. According to their estimations, the building production should grow in 2017 annually on average by 2.7 per cent, when the positive development is expected by almost three quarters of directors and representatives of building firms. More pessimistic expectations are reported in the outlook of this year especially by the firms focused on engineering constructions and large building companies. On the other hand, this year should be successful for companies focused on building construction and small and medium-sized firms. Nevertheless, besides building companies, optimistic expectations come also from people who plan renovations and building a house in a single-handed manner. In the long-term outlook the growth of the Czech building industry should continue at a slight rate of 1.5 per cent.

These forecasts are supported also by the current development in the field of public building orders, when the year featuring a large number of commenced tenders was followed, in the first month of this year, by 245 projects ordered by public investors from particular building firms, in a total value of CZK 9.95 billion. This represents (in an annual comparison) a growth by one tenth in the number of orders, and at the same time a strong, more than double growth of the volume. The described development is confirmed also by the fact that more than one third of building companies (35 per cent) have currently more work than in the comparable period of 2016 and they have contracts for orders for the upcoming six-month period. The average utilisation rate of capacities of building companies oscillates on average at a level of 80 per cent.

The growth of the building industry and of building firms has been supported, in a significant way, for almost thirty years, also by the International Building Trade Fair FOR ARCH, which is the largest trade fair of its type in the Czech Republic and provides the exhibitors, building experts, as well as visitors from the general public with a unique opportunity of being in touch with the latest trends in the sector which have important influence on the future development very often. Moreover, the FOR ARCH Trade Fair is not just an event lasting for several days only, but it is a project with an all-year-round impact, supporting the building industry as a whole with all its individual sectors. This is achieved through a number of partial projects, which include, for example, competition presentations of trades and crafts or competition of architects. Therefore it is no wonder that the trade fair achieves record breaking results also this year, when the number of registered firms reports a 30% growth in comparison with the last year’s data already in the first months of the year.

This year’s edition (already the 28th one) of the FOR ARCH Trade Fair will newly present the Technological Forum, whose target group consists of Czech designing and architectonic companies and studios, together with investors. They will be able to find there various professional and practical information on current trends in the building industry and on the latest technologies and products offered on both the Czech and world markets. One of the important topics will be, for example, an overview of subsidy schemes, which can be used by cities and municipalities for improvement of their infrastructure, services and for energy savings. The trade fair will not be divided into several simultaneously held trade fair events anymore, but conversely, it will be merged into one whole under the FOR ARCH brand. At the same time its visitors can look forward to the new branch focused on current trends and technologies in the area of security equipment, building protection systems, security services and cybernetic protection.

Trade fair FOR ARCH 2017 is experiencing record high interest of exhibitors

Number of exhibition spaces for the FOR ARCH fair is rapidly declining, interest in them is great. 28th International Building Trade Fair FOR ARCH will be held from 19 till 23 September 2017 at PVA EXPO PRAGUE in Letnany. Novelty for exhibitors and visitors will be the new hall, which would  be built on the site of the current Hall no. 7 and which will offer together with larger exhibition area much more comfort.

International Building Fair FOR ARCH 2017 already in the first month of the new year goes well and the interest in  tis huge. Already at the end of January, the number of registered exhibitors compared to the same period in last year grew by full 20 percent and more exhibition area is quickly filling up. The good news is that thanks to this trend, participants would have more time to prepare its exposures, which would help raise the bar of quality of the fair a step above. At the same time it is a clear signal to potential exhibitors not to procrastinate participation application too long.

The big news would also be a new exhibition hall, which in PVA EXPO PRAGUE would be built on the site of the current Hall 7 used under the Fair FOR ARCH in the field of heating. This insulated Hall with height of 5 meters and ventilation louvers on the faces would be designed for year-round use and offer not only a larger exhibition area with a gross area of 4600 m2, but at the same time ensure exhibitors a far greater comfort.

The great interest of exhibitors parallels with the development of the construction market, which is after unfavorable in 2016 coming back to growth. Thrive, first of all, should primarily companies aimed at construction building and small and medium-sized businesses. In addition to construction companies, however, optimistic for the future are planners of renovation and self-help construction work.

28th annual FOR ARCH introduces new Technological Forum, its target group consists of Czech design and architectural companies and studios, along with investors. They would be able to gain professional and practical information on current trends in the construction industry and the latest technologies and products offered on Czech and international markets. One of the major topics would be, for example, an overview of subsidies which can draw cities and municipalities to improve infrastructure and services for energy savings.

This year's trade fair FOR ARCH would no longer be divided into several concurrent fairs, but would on the contrary, combine them into one unit, which would encompass all existing topics under one name. With the merger of disciplines under one brand FOR ARCH organizers promise a better readability for the general public and clarity of content of the event. Also would be introduced a new field focusing on current trends in security technologies, systems of building protection, protection services and cyber security. Last year's 27th annual FOR ARCH fair attracted more than 71 000 visitors. During five days in PVA EXPO PRAGUE in Prague-Letňany presented its exposure 841 exhibitors, including 67 foreign ones from 15 different countries.

FOR ARCH

Are smart households safe?

Alarm systems are one of smart homes‘ elements. As intelligent household is maximum opened, connected and liberal, alarm systems have the task to protect inhabitants and users of building. It aspires to the complete opposite, and despite the fact that in each of the installed security system is now very easily sharing data virtually anywhere in the "local and global" network. A prerequisite is also integration with other systems, whether safety, operational or personal.

Use of alarm systems in intelligent buildings should be built on their primary use, protection. If it were not, it could be just an illusion of safety. It is possible that rapidly evolving technology also allows for a connection that will not be favourable for one or the another system (smart/security).

Besides alarm systems smart homes and smart households are already offering the option of automatic switching on and switching off the lights, dimming, color choice or lighting scenes, control of heating and setting individual temperature in each room, controlled ventilation, water heating, control of audio/video systems, pool technologies, vacuum cleaners, washing machines, refrigerators and even feeders for pets, watering gardens. Smart homes simply increase the comfort of home or work life. This way equipped buildings, for example, at the beginning of a storm closes roof windows automatically, lights in empty rooms extinguish themselves, or in heated rooms turns off heating. “Security systems are no longer just care about safety, but also offer extensive automation and smart features, which are no less attractive. The big advantage of such complex systems is also ease of control, which is due to the remote control possible with applications. Users can remotely control the situation in the house or turn on the heating before arriving at place,” says Michal Ježek, product manager of electronic safety system from company Jablotron.

More information, advices and inspiration interested in living and building security persons would be able to obtain on the International Building Fair FOR ARCH, which takes place at the PVA EXPO PRAGUE from 19 to 23 September 2017. Companies offering intelligent building technologies and security systems would present at the Hall 4.

CHANGE OF COMPANY HEADQUARTER

New things waiting for you within FOR ARCH 2017

This year’s edition of the International Building Trade Fair FOR ARCH, which is the largest event of this type in the Czech Republic, was extraordinarily successful again. Altogether 841 exhibitors presented their expositions there, 67 of them coming from abroad from 15 countries of the world, and the number of visitors thus exceeded the limit of 71,000 persons. This success would not have been possible without involvement of our long-term partners, and therefore we would like to express our thanks for the demonstrated support to the general partner of the trade fair, the ČEZ Group, to the car manufacturing company FORD for official cars of the trade fair, to the organisations and other institutions which provided their auspices for the event, as well as to all our professional and media partners. At the same time we would like to express our great thanks also to all visitors whose support is at the same time a great challenge for us in the future as well.

FOR ARCH 2017 to focus on the area of security technology

Nevertheless, the preparations for the next edition of the trade fair are underway already now. The International Building Trade Fair FOR ARCH 2017 will take place from 19 to 23 September at the PVA EXPO PRAGUE Exhibition Centre in Prague-Letňany and will be focused on its new branch dealing with current trends and technologies in the field of security technology, systems of protection of buildings, security services, and last but not least also with the state-of-the-art information technologies and cybernetic protection. Dita Štěpánová has been entrusted with management of this branch. In terms of its content it will replace the FS Days (Prague Fire & Security Days) Trade Fair which has been organised as a part of the FOR ARCH Trade Fair for the last time this year.

Simultaneously held trade fairs will be merged under one brand

Large organisational changes are planned together with the new topic for the next edition of the International Building Trade Fair FOR ARCH as well. This means that the trade fair will not be divided anymore according to traditional branches into the simultaneously held trade fairs FOR STAV, FOR THERM, FOR WOOD and BAZÉNY, SAUNY & SPA, but on the other hand, it will be merged into one whole, which is to bear an umbrella name for all the existing topics. This decision will lead to the strengthening of the FOR ARCH brand on the one hand, and at the same time it will serve for the general public from the viewpoint of making the content of the event organised more transparent. All the accompanying materials will therefore be prepared for visitors in an individual graphic design, which may help, within the framework of the trade fair, to much easier orientation.

The two-day forum under preparation will present the latest building technologies and also their use

Already now you may look forward also to the brand-new two-day TECHNOLOGICAL FORUM, which is to arise in cooperation with the TZB-info portal. This will involve an informal meeting of professionals with representatives of state administration and self-government structures, whose aim is to help municipalities to use modern technologies for savings, development and effective maintenance and to intermediate contacts with technicians, designers and architects. In cooperation with the Ministry for Regional Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade and Ministry of the Environment, at first presentations will be made for various subsidy programmes for subsequent years and then this information will be followed up by leading manufacturers from the field of the building industry, use of water, electrical technologies, security and heating, who are to present the latest technologies and products together with their possible use to investors in short sessions.

The event brought together companies from the construction and related fields, production of windows and doors, electrical and automation for industry and households, staffing agencies, IT, consulting and other companies offering the latest in construction innovations. Among Czech participants were small and medium companies as well as small traders. Meetings were interesting also because mainly German participants were primarily looking for new subcontractors of construction works and product for German market.

An interesting participant flew I from the USA – the American company inquiring manufacturer of wooden pergolas for its clients in Europe. During one day he held 8 meetings mostly with Czech companies. At the end he was very pleased because the event fully met his expectations: first map the Czech market with manufacturers’ pergolas, but also directly establish the first contacts with Czech producers and suppliers.

All the participants appreciated the secure for business meetings, including interpreting international meetings. The survey conducted immediately after the event shows that almost 30 meetings resulted immediately to mutual cooperation in both international and Czech participants among themselves. Even those who came for such meetings for the first time with fear of what lay ahead evaluated the meetings very positively and talked about meaningfulness of organizing such meetings.

The most serious problem of wood as a building element is its relatively high combustibility

Directors of designing companies consider the relatively high combustibility of wood to be the most serious disadvantage of the building use of wood. On the other hand, the possibility of mould attacks causes the least concern. This conclusion implies from the analysis which was prepared by the analytical company “CEEC Research” for the International Building Trade Fair FOR ARCH.

The main disadvantage of the wood as a building element is its relatively high combustibility, according to directors of the designing companies. More than one half of them (53 per cent) shared this view in their answers. Concerning the remaining part of respondents, the most serious problems of the use of wood are, in their opinion, its limited lifetime (17 per cent of directors), humidity issues (16 per cent of directors) and pest attacks (13 per cent of directors). Only an absolute minimum (1 per cent) had concerns about increased occurrence of moulds as the main disadvantage. Major differences appeared in the answers of representatives of the companies dealing with preparation of engineering constructions. Higher combustibility compared to other materials is the main disadvantage of the building use of wood for two thirds of them (65 per cent), while less than one tenth had concerns about the limited lifetime (7 per cent).

On Tuesday, 20 September, the first of the daily topics of the Building Trade Fair FOR ARCH, which is to be held from 20 to 24 September at the PVA EXPO PRAGUE Exhibition Centre, will be prepared for those interested - namely the issues of quality of products and materials, including the rating figures. During the course of the event, the visitors will learn how attestations and certifications of products and materials are carried out, in what way building products are assessed, what is necessary to do for successful placement on the market of a product and how this important topic is resolved in legal regulations and European standards. Besides this, an independent BUILDING CONSULTANCY CENTRE (SPC) will be prepared for visitors in the ENTRANCE HALL II, where specialised experts are to answer various questions from the field of the building industry free of charge.

Recuperation units are required by almost three quarters of customers of design companies

Prague, 29 August 2016 – Almost three quarters of customers of design companies require inclusion of a recuperation unit during preparation of constructions. The situation is, however, rather different at firms dealing especially with engineering constructions where they are required for one fifth of designs only. These conclusions imply from the analysis which was prepared for the International Building Trade Fair FOR ARCH by the analytical company “CEEC Research”.

The inclusion of recuperation units during preparation of new constructions is required, according to directors of design companies, by almost three quarters of customers (72 per cent). In one third of cases (33 per cent) the matter concerns residential constructions and in two fifths of cases (39 per cent) it concerns non-residential premises. Two fifths of customers (39 per cent) do not require inclusion of recuperation units. In the case of design companies dealing especially with building constructions, the interest is even still higher and in residential buildings, recuperation units are required by 40 per cent of customers, whereas in non-residential buildings it is 43 per cent of customers that require them. A very large deviation from the average values is stated by companies dealing with engineering constructions where customers require installation of recuperation units only in non-residential buildings (18 per cent) and the entire four fifths (82 per cent) are not interested in recuperation units.

Wednesday, 21 September, will be focused, within the framework of individual daily topics of the FOR ARCH Building Trade Fair, which is to be held on 20-24 September at the PVA EXPO PRAGUE Exhibition Centre, on management of energy performance of buildings and ventilation concepts. In the course of the trade fair it will be also possible to visit a specialised lecture entitled “Heating and Ventilation in Modern Saving Buildings”, where customers will be able to get themselves familiar, in a detailed way, with issues of energy efficient constructions. The explanation will be focused on the use of alternative energy resources and will present solutions based on solar heating and cooling, use of biomass in buildings, heat pumps, possibly with the use of energy of the surrounding environment. The topic of savings that can be achieved during the actual operation will not be missing either. Besides the above mentioned events, an independent BUILDING CONSULTANCY CENTRE (SPC) will be prepared for visitors at the ENTRANCE HALL II, where the experts will answer your questions from the field of construction activities free of charge.

The FOR ARCH Trade Fair to introduce a comfort and environment-friendly digital household of the future

This year’s edition of the International Building Trade Fair FOR ARCH, which is to be held at the end of September in Prague-Letňany, has chosen, as one of the current topics, also the so-called “smart house” which is able, through its structure and technologies used, to ensure maximum comfort and energy-efficient environment for the people living there. A special ELEKTRO section will be reserved in the hall number 4 to the firms which are active in this sector. The general partner of the International Building Trade Fair FOR ARCH 2016 is the ČEZ group.

Friday, 23 September, will belong, in this year’s concept of various daily topics at the FOR ARCH Building Trade Fair, which is to be held on 20-24 September at the PVA EXPO PRAGUE Exhibition Centre, to the “Smart House” topic. A smart house ensures optimum and comfort environment for people living in such a house, in terms of its structure, used technologies and control systems. It is highly effective in terms of economy, energy consumption as well as from the viewpoint of impacts on its external environment and enables a multi-purpose use and reconfiguration. Its description often uses also such terms as “digital household”, “digital house” or “intelligent house”.

A properly prepared design is very important for implementation of a smart house. Its heart consists of a central system which helps, through modular infrastructure and individual active elements, to automate the operation of the entire household. Its control is very intuitive and it can be used for the control of e.g. air conditioning, shading, hot water preparation, irrigation, communication, distribution of TV and video signals, radio and music, telephones as well as the Internet. An important factor is the optimum and effective control of thermal technology and ventilation, thanks to which it achieves large energy savings. A matter-of-course is then connection of all illumination to the central system in such a way that it responds to your activities in a fully natural way. A smart house takes care also of household safety and provides you, at any time and anywhere, an overview of its current state, including alarms, fire sensors and camera systems. The system is also able to simulate living at absence, by using the pre-programmed activation of lights.

The FOR ARCH Trade Fair will be focused also on support of technical education this year

The FOR ARCH Trade Fair will be focused also on support of technical education this year

The first topic of the International Trade Fair FOR ARCH announced this year is support of technical education, whose importance has been continually growing for several years. Within the framework of popularisation of building trades and crafts, the trade fair will become the place of another final round of the SUSO competition as well. This competition presentation has been attended, since its beginning in 1996, by more than 4,500 selected pupils accompanied by more than 1,700 teachers, and on average approximately 80 specialised technical schools could present their work and art there. The first qualification round of this competition focused on craftsmanship and craft skills will be held, for the regions of Prague, Central Bohemia and Northern Bohemia, on January 22-23 at the PVA EXPO PRAGUE Exhibition Centre. The qualification rounds for other regions, including Slovakia, will always follow in monthly intervals.

Another important event which the visitors can look forward to is the announcement of the results of the competition of young architects known as Young Architect Award (YAA). Its aim is to help the beginning creators under 33 years of age to find their place on the architectonic stage, and at the same time to make the general public familiar with contemporary architecture and to support public discussion focused on this topic. The competition works which can be registered already now will be assessed by the professional jury in the course of June. Both these competitions are sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and by the Association of Building Entrepreneurs of the Czech Republic. From the above mentioned facts it is also clear that the Building Trade Fair FOR ARCH is not just a five-day matter, but that it really represents a year-round event.

The other announced topic of the trade fair is the area of quality of products and materials. In this context, the already traditional competition “Building of the Year”, which has been a top event of the trade fair for several years, will be organised under the auspices of the Foundation for Development of Architecture and Civil Engineering (ABF). This year it will be enriched with an innovation - competition entitled “Product/Technology of the Year for Architecture and Civil Engineering”.

Extension of business negotiations at the International Building Trade Fairs FOR ARCH arouse great interest and received positive feedbacks

Matchmaking business meetings - targeted business negotiations - are very popular with entrepreneurs: these are business appointments arranged for in advance by both exhibitors and visitors for whom the firms choose their partners on the basis of cooperation profiles published in the catalog of participants. The participating exhibitors are therefore offered an important added value enabling them to utilize their participation in the trade fair in the most effective way.

The event was attended by 64 Czech and 38 foreign firms from 11 countries, and in terms of the number of firms the largest representation was from Germany (18 firms), Austria (5), Poland (4) or Italy (3). The event was further attended by firms from e.g. Spain, Luxembourg, United Kingdom, China, etc., and the participating companies organized altogether 227 business appointments among them. It was also possible to use consultations with the expert from the Technological Center of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, concerning the European Program “Horizon 2020”. Czech participants had a possibility of consulting the issues of sending staff abroad and cross-border provision of services in the building industry. The afternoon program included, besides the appointments, also a guided tour of the Trade Fair expositions, which was welcomed especially by foreign participants.

The event was attended by firms from building and associated sectors, such as construction activities, production of windows and doors, electrical installations and assemblies, as well as automation for industry and households, technical equipment, personnel agencies, IT, green technologies and other firms offering news in the field of building innovations. Among Czech participants it was possible to find not only small and medium-size enterprises, but also self-employed individuals – for example roofers, carpenters, plumbers as well as electricians.

The main partner and co-organizer of the event was, like in previous years, the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) – Center for Regional Development of the Czech Republic.
